As I reflect on 2016 and all of the beautiful experiences, I want to take a moment to thank you – my global ‘Ohana – for sharing the journey with me.
In January, Our Kahele came to us and balanced out our family. We are complete. There was a lot of healing after her birth, that I had to go through, physically. At the same time, Kahele’s arrival has given us a completeness and innocence. We are blessed with a child-like bright light in our household.
Another healing event came with our trip to Kaua’i. This event has been 12 years in the making! The week before my teacher, Aunty Mahi, died, we were supposed to go to Kaua’i to meet the Family.
In the last days before she died, she held brother Chucky’s hand and made him promise that he and I would go to Kaua’i to take care of the family. She wouldn’t let go of his hand until he promised. This November, my last class of the year was going to meet the family there.
It was just so wonderful to share in that way. To hear stories of Aunty Mahi. To be stepping in from my Kumu, even this many years after she passed away. Being recognized by the family was really an important piece with me.
One of the greatest gifts from the family was the genealogy of my connection to Aunty. I had been waiting for this information since the week that she passed! It’s been 12 years in November that Aunty passed. I feel like it’s just come full circle. So much healing and understanding.
Another completion has happened in the spa. In 2012, we set on a mission to expand Ho’omana Spa Maui. We didn’t know if it was going to work.We had no idea how to get people wanting to come all the way up here from the resorts. We didn’t have the money to pay our staff what they could make elsewhere.
We all worked so hard. Worked with each other. Worked for each other. Covered each others shifts. Helped out in class. Created opportunity for therapists to also receive the work that they were giving to others. But guess what….
I had to pinch myself. Our island has a huge array of spas to choose from in Kihei, Wailea and Ka’anapali, but they choose to find their way all the way up Piiholo Road in Makawao.
It’s been just incredible.
Our classes at Ho’omana Lomi Lomi Training have gone to a whole new level. In my first Ho’opa’a class we had six students. This fall, we had 33!
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be looking back at everything through the eyes of Ho’oponopono, and of bringing things back in to balance and harmony through our online Masterclass.
If you have the chance. Get out and see Moana the movie. What I really loved about it was the opportunity see everyone’s ho’oponopono story. This is exactly what I have been talking about in our online class.
The bowl of light. Seeing the light in others. Knowing the only reason that you might not see the light in others is because of past events. Everybody has their preconceived ideas that have shaped the way they are behaving in the world with one another. This movie will help you see it.
There has been so much love poured into all of the projects here at Ho’omana. I feel very blessed and am looking forward to an amazing 2017. I would love to see you here or abroad!
