You Are Essential

You are essential.

When the stay-at-home order started, no one could have predicted that we will still be home 2 months later.

We’ve been told to stay home and shut our doors. They say our work is non-essential.

Let that sink in for a moment.

When someone says your WORK is not essential, it’s easy to believe YOU are not essential.

However, you are not your work.

You ARE essential.

What we need to do now is learn to navigate this new world. How do we do that?

1. Protect your Mindset

Just because someone else is saying that you’re not essential, doesn’t make it so.

Where your thoughts go, energy flows. – Aunty Mahilani Poepoe

Your thoughts have mana, personal divine power, and they are important. It is critical that you acknowledge your divine worth in these times of uncertainty.

Resist the temptation to allow messages into your awareness that tell you that you’re not essential.

You are a survivor. In fact, it’s in your DNA. You literally come from a long line of ancestors that have faced war, famine, disease and made it through to the other side.

Thank them.

Acknowledge yourself for all of the trials that you have overcome in your own life.

You are significant. Let that voice resonate within you.

Create affirmations and state them aloud. Every day. Over time, your cells will believe it. You will begin to feel it in every aspect of your being.

Don’t wait for others to give you permission. Create certainty and confidence for yourself.

Develop a powerful mindset. Say it aloud with me, “I AM ESSENTIAL”

2. Remember Your Calling

If you are a massage therapist, alternative medical professional or energy worker, you answered a call to be of service to others.

We’ve all had clients who have been to the doctor, gotten the tests, spent time in therapy and still didn’t find relief.

Yet, when they came to lie on your table, they found the key.

Your clients still need that healing work. You are the conduit that unlocks a huge transformation.

Remember the clients who were able to go back to work, play with their kids, forgive their partners and step into a whole new life…because of you and your essential work.

Take a few moments and list them by name. Visualize them in their high vibration state. Let a wave of gratitude and accomplishment wash over you.

Say it aloud with me, “I AM CALLED TO BRING HEALING TO MYSELF AND MY COMMUNITY.”

3. Commit to excellence

Our Hawaiian word for excellence, to be great, is maika’i. Let’s break that down…

Mai = to come

Ka = the

‘i = our divine essence, that thing that is essential in each and every one of us. Our divine birthright from creator source.

All together, maika’i is a call to bring forward that great excellence we all possess.

Show up as your very best self. Be excellent. Every time. No matter what.

When you fulfill on this intention, it will be like that drop of Aloha that ripples out into the waters of life.

Others will feel it. Your family. Your clients and community. They will tell their friends that you are showing up, committed to sharing your gifts.

Prepare yourself physically. Drink water, eat fruits and vegetable. Take a walk. Get a good night’s sleep.

Meditate. Journal. Double down on high performance habits.

You’re going to be ready mentally, spiritually, and emotionally to meet this great essential need when the doors open again and the timing is right for you.

4. Prepare for Change

Now is the time to prepare yourself and your clients for when the doors begin to open again.

One thing is certain. We will not go back to practicing the way we were before.

Stay informed from your local health officials about the necessary precautions all health workers have to take. Communicate regularly with other health care professionals.

Do not look to the media as your guide. Their stories are design to grab attention, not provide in depth advice and analysis for your specific situation.

You are essential and there will be a time when you will be able to return safely.

We, as a community, must figure out a way to stand in the mindset “I am essential.”

Now, it’s your turn – post in the comments below why you stepped into healing work in the first place and declare I AM ESSENTIAL.

I read every comment and answer every question, personally.

I always read your messages with a smile…..I wish you continued blessings of abundance and grace as you help others to improve their lives! I’m still in Idaho but am coming home as soon as possible! Looking for a place every day on-line. Until then, sending blessings of love, abundance, and of course, ALOHA! ❤️❤️❤️

  3. Aloha look wisely and healing when it boils down to being essential. Stores/ customer service, Machanic/ CS, banks/CS, essential to me is bring and take your stuff and leave. Have no close contact with anyone for a period of time. Gardeners/CS. We are at risk who works close and have longlasting contact with the public. Think about it. For your ohana. Alohanui Tamar

    1. Aloha Tamar, we have thought long and hard about how to open safely and responsibly. We have taken every measure beyond standard CDC guidelines from KN95 masks for staff, facial coverings for guests, UV air sanitizers in every space , pre-screening and temperature reading. Maui is 96% recovered with no new cases Only a few cases in weeks and zero in the last 6 days. It will take wisdom to navigate what lies ahead. Our commitment to touching as many lives with Aloha safely and responsibly is at the center of our actions. Getting back to the work we love starting June 1st. We’ll let you know how it goes.

    1. Mahalo reaching out Lalita. Happy to share and support our global community. It gives me the opportunity to stay focused myself. I definitely have my own wobbly moments. That’s all they really are is moments and choices. Mahalo for showing up in appreciation and for taking the time to send acknowledgement. It really means a lot
